How are CareVitality Therapists chosen?
Our Chief Psychiatry Officer and VP of Therapy carefully vet our network of doctoral licensed psychologists and master’s level therapists practicing at CareVitality’s Telehealth Group. A patient can choose from a therapist licensed to practice in their state. The therapist is trained in treatment and prevention techniques via telehealth by our Chief Therapy Officer. If needed, we have physicians who can provide a virtual visit/ telehealth visit, prescribe needed medications and manage any urgent or regular medical office visit needs.

Yes, just select the state you are in to seek care and you will be provided a list of licensed therapists available in that state.
How is an online therapy session different from an office visit?
During your session, you will discuss your current behavioral/ emotional symptoms, possible reasons leading to these symptoms, your medical and mental health history and what your goal is for the virtual visit. Then, your therapist will come up with an assessment and recommended treatment plan for improvement. This will be an ongoing conversation and can change your treatment plan if your needs change over time.
Do you have therapists outside the United States?
At this time we provide care in the United States but we will be expanding internationally in the future.
Does CareVitality offer online therapy for children?
Yes, as long as we have guardian/ parental consent, our state specific therapists who are experienced in treating children can provide online therapy. Since the child is a minor, the parent needs to create a sub-account to their child’s account to schedule the child’s therapy appointment.
Do CareVitality online therapists prescribe medicine?
No, therapists are not allowed to prescribe medication. If you are seeking medication, scheduling with one of our psychiatrists would be a more appropriate choice. Our integrative approach to online therapy allows our physicians to collaborate with our therapists when needed to provide time efficient and effective care for our patients.
Will my primary care physician or psychiatrist be given a copy of my virtual therapy visit?
It is your decision if you would like to share these notes with your physician. If you decide to have these notes shared you can have this done in the following ways:
- You can give the fax number of your physician to the therapist and we can electronically transmit your session notes to your requested physician once the therapist receives your consent.
- You will have a copy of your session summary in your CareVitality account to send to your desired physician, save or print a copy for yourself.
